Get to Know Our Volunteer Staff

Our volunteer staff consists of several dedicated individuals. Randy Brown is the Camp Director. Debbie Speas is the camp Art and Activities Director. Martin Little and Cameron Current are the camp musicians. Martie Latham is the camp storyteller. Ernie and Barbara Carpenter are responsible for providing Tuesday afternoon activities on their farm for the camp family. Jerry Murph is the maintenance and grounds caretaker for the camp.

There are several business owners that also contribute their time and activities/goods to the camp for the families. Tony and Sharon Eldreth of Parkway Theatre provide a free movie night for camp families. Brenda Barker of Mountainaire Seafood provides a meal each week for the camp family. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus also visit the camp families when schedule permits. North Carolina park rangers from New River State Park present wildlife educational programs when scheduling permits. Local churches also help out with the camp in a variety of ways. For example, First Baptist Church Ladies Group bakes a cake for each family to enjoy that week. We thank every single person for their desire to contribute in whatever memorable way they can.
