Greetings from Camp New Hope! Well we are bracing for the cold weather and getting ready for Christmas!
It is with a sadden heart that I must share the news of the passing of two special people. We were notified last week of the passing of one of our precious campers Braedon. Braedon was such a sweet young man who was confined to a wheelchair but now he is running, playing and talking just like every other child his age. Please keep this family in your prayers this Christmas Season. Heaven has a new Camp New Hope angel. What a honor it was to have been able to share the camp with him and his family.
We also received a phone call Tuesday of the passing of Penny Dulkiewicz the grandmother of Jonathan Duliewicz who was a past camper and who passed away two years ago. The Dulkiewicz family has been coming to the camp since 2010. We have built a special friendship with this family through the years. Penny and her husband Mike are from New York and every year when Jonathan came to the camp they also came to the camp, not only to spend time with their grandson but they NEVER left the camp without making sure if there was a need it was taken care of. In October of this year Penny, Mike and Jonathan’s parents, Mitch and Wendy came and stayed a week and helped with some special projects that needed to be done. Penny and Mike as always brought a car load of cleaning and paper products. Penny wasn’t feeling well then and never fully recovered. She passed away suddenly on Tuesday. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Even in her passing her family still has the camp in their thoughts having memorials being sent to the camp in lieu of flowers. Penny would have insisted this be done, that is just the type person she was and she will never be forgotten. Please pray for this special family also. Penny will be spending Christmas with Jonathan this year and we know she will be having a great Christmas with her grandson.
Thank you for your prayers and continued support of Camp New Hope. It is because of our supporters that we are able to provide this special place to these special children and families. Thank you as always to Will and Mark Adkins for opening their hearts and making this place possible for so many families. May God bless each and everyone of you is our earnest prayer. Merry Christmas, hold your family tight and remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season!
