Greetings from a beautiful Camp New Hope.
Meet our guest from last week Caitlin. Caitlin was here at the camp with her family. She has been diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. She is a precious girl and loves to twirl a ball. The Harlem Globetrotters have nothing on her. She has just about worn the covering off her ball. She loved going to ride the train and the wagon and she loved Martin singing to her. She tubed down the river with her family and loved that experience also. Since pizza is one of her favorite foods she really enjoyed her visit to the Village Inn Pizza. They take such good care of us.
The 4th of July celebration here at the camp was a success! So many children laughing and smiling. Thanks to everyone who donated to this event and to those that worked so hard to make this happen. Thanks to Mar’s Candy who made a lot of children happy. I bet they are still on a sugar rush! Thank you to Will and Mark Adkins who provide this beautiful place for these children and their families. We hope the children of Ashe County enjoyed it as much as we did. Go to our facebook page to see the pictures. The children loved the waterslide, apple bobbing, apple pie eating contest, cheese puff eating contest, ice cream, decorating their own cupcakes and the hotdogs! Everyone loved the music from the Blue Ridge Mountain Home Band! Oh, and the baptism AWESOME! Let’s do it again soon.
We have twins with us this week and I will try to get their pictures out asap.
Visit when you can.
For the children,
