Greetings from Camp New Hope. Well just when we thought Old Man Winter was finished with us He decides to dump another 6 inches of snow on us last week! However the snow did not stay around long and I just have a feeling that Spring is right around the corner.
Lily was our guest last week and we all celebrated her birthday while she was here with us. Lily has cystic fibrosis and we just loved having her and her family with us. After Lily’s Birthday celebration we all went outside and released colored lanterns into the night sky in her honor. It was just beautiful. First Baptist Church brought a coconut cake that the family said was the “best cake ever”!
We are still getting ready to get our 9th season in full swing. Boy, how time does fly by! Nine years and hundreds of families and children have visited with us. What an honor to serve these families. We love each and everyone of you!
Thank you for your continued support of this ministry. Please remember us in your prayers and please remember to pray for these children and their families.
On Saturday, April 19 from 11 until 2 we will be celebrating Easter here at Camp New Hope.
Everyone is invited! The Egg hunt will be at 11 and then the children will have a chance to have pictures made with the Easter Bunny and to bring Easter full circle Santa will be here for pictures also. Santa who always reminds us that Christmas is about love and that God gave His Son the greatest gift of all to us and then the Easter eggs which remind us of the “new life” God has promised us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will even have singing, a fire truck, Ernie’s train, hotdogs and cupcakes and prizes. Mackinley’s Playhouse will be open so the children can enjoy playing in the playhouse also.
Hope you all can come and enjoy a day by the river with your family. Everyone is invited!
