Meet Ilona

Greetings from a beautiful Camp New Hope!  We are getting the river banks cleaned after the recent flood and everything should be cleaned in time for the ground breaking ceremony for the new lodge for the Children of Camp New Hope on Saturday, October 17th at noon.  We hope you will be able to attend!  We will have a prayer of the area where the new lodge will be built and then we will have a Music Jam to celebrate.  If you love to play music and would like to join in for a day of fun, come on out and join us.

Meet our guest for the week, Ilona.  Isn’t she a sweetheart!  Ilona has been diagnosd with Tetrology of fallot with swiss cheese heart, vacterl association, mental devastation, she is fed with a feeding tube, has had numerous sugeries, a right leg amputation.  While speaking with her parents this week I learned in her first 2 years of life their medical bills exceeded 2.5 million dollars!  I am just amazed at the stamina and faith these families have.     As you can see she is having fun with her family this week.  Wow, and look at her walk with her new leg!  She is such a trooper!  Today  the family will be going to pick apples at Don Long’s here in West Jefferson.  This is an experience the family will not forget!  Oh,  by the way, you can see brother Gavin is Iron Man this week!

Thank you to everyone who volunteers at the camp, thank the community for its continued support and thank you to the Adkins brothers who without their generosity and support this camp would not be possible.  What an honor it is to be able to provide these families with a week they can enjoy.

God bless you is my prayer!  God bless the children of Camp New Hope!  Visit when you can!

For the children,
Randy
