Introducing Jimmy

Greetings from Camp New Hope!  We would like to introduce to you our guest Jimmy!  Jimmy is a trip!  He loved tubing, fishing, painting, listening to Martin sing and he loves to eat!  Jimmy also especially loved playing the X-Box which I know absolutely nothing about but he sure was intrigued by it.  Jimmy also loved the train at Ernies !  I don’t guess any of us ever get too old for a train ride!  Jimmy was here with his family.  It was a different week because Jimmy’s dad is on dialysis so he had to make a trip to Wilkesboro Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  I am amazed at how these families adjust to situations in their lives.

If you think it is hot where you live well it has been unseasonably hot here as well.  Even the New River is warm and that is unusual but temps this week are only suppose to be in the mid seventies!   We are like most of you guys in that we have had lots and lots of downpours which have resulted in road wash outs and trails washing out.  Last Tuesday we had 2 ½ inches in 2 hours!  What a mess!  It is what it is and we are just grateful to God that we did not suffer major damage just some things that are a minor inconvenience.   We have two motto’s we live by here, the first being “it is what it is” and the other being ”  want to hear God laugh, just tell him YOUR plans”.    Anyway we are good and are always trying to look on the bright side of things.  I am reminded that we have a roof over our heads, shoes on our feet and food on our table as well as precious friends and family.  Life is good no matter what state we are in.

It has been a busy summer and fall is just around the corner.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers.  Also,  pray for those who are sick and hurting.  Please join in praying for those who have children that come to the camp.  Pray that God will help us be a blessing to them.  Thank you to all of those who continue to support us  either by praying, volunteering or supporting us financially.  Pray for the owners of the camp because without their tender hearts and unselfish giving this camp would not be possible.

God bless you all and visit us when you can!

For the Children,
Randy
