Greeting from Camp New Hope!

So much has been happening here at the camp.  We are still in the process of cleaning the riverbanks and trails after a long difficult fall and winter.  This is the beginning of our 14th season and we are just blown away by the generosity of the community and our faithful camp supporters and followers.  Thank you all for your prayers and continued support of the unique ministry.

We have our new handicapped golf cart and new paint schemes on the other RTV’s.   Rick Jackson made a new swing for the handicapped children and we can’t wait to see how they like it.  Debbie has already been busy painting with the 2019 families.  Our schedule will remain mostly the same.

Martin singing, Martie storytelling, Park Ranger, Ernies, Village Inn Pizza, Parkway Theater and Santa! Kathy will still be making cookies and entertaining the families with her cart wheels!   Hole Lotta Doughnuts are new to the area and they have the biggest doughnuts I have ever seen, not to mention they will melt in your mouth.  We are partnering with Zaloo’s Canoes this year.  They have a fundraiser Kayak Race scheduled for June 15 for us.  Speaking of Fundraisers, what about the Wings for Hope fundraiser organized by Brenda from Mountain Air Seafood and Kristin from New River Brewery and Eatery which raised 4,024 to help gravel Mountain Top Rd.  It was fast, furious and amazing!   God is so Good!

We have had a few families already this year but we are in full swing now.  Time to put on our running shoes!  I would encourage you all to check out the Camp New Hope facebook page where you can see pictures showing the activities with the families each week.  This is such an amazing journey not to mention fun!  Please remember to pray for all the children and their families.  We have already had to say goodbye to one child.  I must also say Thank You to the owners of the camp Will and Mark Adkins, without them this camp would not be able to do what we do.

Visit us when you can! God Bless you all, God bless the children of Camp New Hope and God bless and protect our country.

For the children,
Randy

Hi I will be in the mountains most of the summer, and want to volunteer. I am currently a substitute teacher for Gaston County…for the past 3 years. So I have been background and FBI checked. I have excellent references. Will be back at mountain week of April 22nd so hope to meet you then. My church is Holy Comforter Lutheran in Belmont near Charlotte. I have experience working with exceptional children. Very excited about meeting you. My tiny house is at Pa Huddles right up the road from you. Look forward to talking soon.
